Simply the best
So it’s back to school and Kew Village Market is now back to full strength with 38 stalls selling everything from chutney to chopping boards, from Kew-brewed beer to grass-fed beef… (To see the complete list, just click here.)
We’re very happy to say hello to a handful of new-to-Kew stalls. Pinch of This will be a godsend to those with gluten intolerance in the family, offering delicious gluten-free baked goods… Farah’s Candle Workshop sells finely fragranced wax wonders, made with only natural ingredients… Ilona’s Party Pieces will bring some squeaky fun to the occasion, with brilliant balloon modelling… And Mulata Cuisine will be cooking up a taste of Colombia with their fabulously flavoursome street food (to be enjoyed alfresco with live music from The Sapphire Grooves maybe?).
But perhaps our proudest signing is Kew Park Rangers – now officially the best grassroots football club in the country! For the last 15 years its players and their parents have known how terrific their volunteer-run club is and now it’s rightly been crowned the FA Community Club of the Year 2015. Good sportsmanship, fair play and enjoying the game are what KPR stand for and they’ll be at the market to recruit new players, from under-5s to veterans – so if your boy or girl would like to play for the best do bring them along on Sunday to sign up. And grown-up football fans can gaze in awe at the medal presented to KPR on the hallowed turf of Wembley by no less a legend than Sir Geoff Hurst..
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 6th September from 10am to 2pm!
PS Also, don’t forget that Kew Horticultural Society’s Flower and Produce Show is on Kew Green from 11am this Saturday 5th September. Victoria plums, Victoria sandwiches and Victorian fairground rides – unmissable!
