KVM May 2014 Newsletter

Happy May Day Weekend!

Why not make the most of the long weekend with a visit to Kew Village Market this Sunday?  Maybe shop for a scrumptious roast – Spring lamb from C & S Stileman, say, or a pork joint from Noggin Farm, with all the veggie trimmings from Beech Hill Farm…?  Or stop by Carolyn Dawson’s stall to pick up the makings of a perfect picnic for a trip to Kew Gardens…

Among our 36 stalls this month we’re also delighted to welcome four that are new to Kew: The Kettle Shed has a great selection of loose-leaf tea for those with a taste for the very best in cuppas; Only A Smile sells gluten- and sugar-free speciality treats; Frank & Vera have fabric crafts for sale, from childen’s clothes to bunting; and Tim Lewis-Bale offers framed photographic prints of wildlife, travel and local scenes.

Our charity stall this month will be for Kew Community Trust whose Avenue Club provides a social lifeline to so many local elderly people. Members of their Craft Club have been busy sewing and knitting to stock the stall so here’s your chance to snap up some beautiful bargains in a very good cause.

And from 11 o’clock we’ll be entertained by Barry Ukulele Muse-Art (named because he plays a baritone ukulele and is inspired by Mozart– geddit?).  He’ll be alternating children’s songs such as Alouette with his own original numbers, plus covers like Summer in the City. And our request? Bring Me Sunshine…

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 4th May from 10am to 2pm!
