KVM March 2014 newsletter
All good news
One of the most rewarding things about running Kew Village Market is the opportunity to help local good causes, and on Sunday it will be our pleasure to hand out yet more cheques from our operating profits.
The Friends of Kew Pond, who do such a great job in keeping the pond a pleasure for us all, will receive £650 for plants for the reed beds and equipment; and, on a similarly green note, the Kew Horticultural Society are getting £258 to help with the cost of their annual Summer Show on Kew Green, to buy gazebos and the like. Palmer House, Abbeyfield will have £500 towards entertainment for its residents – a river trip, for instance, and honoraria for speakers. And once more we’ll be supporting the Rotary Club of Kew Gardens with £500 for their excellent Dictionaries 4 Life scheme, whereby every Year 5 primary school pupil in Kew is given a personal copy of an illustrated English dictionary.
If you know of a good cause in the area in need of extra funds, do please get in touch. We always welcome applications from local charities, schools and amenity groups in Richmond and particularly want to support specific projects or buy items of equipment. Our charity co-ordinator, Simon Fowler, is happy to advise on the process of applying for a KVM grant and can be contacted through our website: www.kewvillagemarket.org
And of course that’s where all our customers can also find details of this month’s market: before you make out your shopping list, check out here all the stallholders selling quality foodstuffs and handmade crafts who will be joining us.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 2nd March from 10am to 2pm!
