KVM October Newsletter

Happy Birthday to Us!

Come and celebrate with us this Sunday, 6th October – it’ll be Kew Village Market’s second birthday!  Sugarmaddy, whose stall full of scrumptious sweet treats is a regular favourite, is baking us a cake, there’ll be balloons and of course a chorus of Happy Birthday (perhaps accompanied by young local band Retina who’ll be playing at 11.30 and 12.30).

Our birthday isn’t the only cause for celebration: we’re also thrilled because KVM has just won Highly Commended (equivalent to the silver medal) in the Best Food Retailer category at the prestigious Time & Leisure Food & Drink Awards 2013. The awards are decided by popular vote – so it’s you, our customers and supporters, who have won it for us. As J-F Burford, Chair of the KVM Committee, said: ‘For Kew Village Market to have been honoured in this way is testimony to the fantastic quality of our stallholders’ produce and the enthusiasm of our customers. On behalf of the team of volunteers who organise the market, thank you very much indeed!’

Joining this month’s spread of fabulous food stalls will be Lusobrazil, offering every sort of Portuguese and Brazilian bakery products including two savoury specialities – codfish cakes and chorizo bread. Also we have two new recruits to our hand-made crafts contingent: David the Bee and Friends, with gorgeous gifts for children, using linen and retro remants of fabric; and Conkers Handknits, offering distinctive designer children’s wear that’s practical and comfortable too. Looking forward to seeing them and you at Kew Village Market on Sunday 6th October from 10am to 2pm!
