Please make us the People’s Choice!
‘We love the market and always come if we can – it brings vibrancy to the village!’ That’s a typical comment, so we know that Kew Village Market is valued by residents and visitors alike. Now, as nominations are open for the Richmond Business Awards 2013, we’re hoping that appreciation can be acknowledged with the People’s Choice Award. If you feel that the market makes a real contribution to the borough, makes living in Kew even more special, do please log on to www.richmondbusinessawards.com and nominate Kew Village Market in the People’s Choice category. Winning would be a wonderful accolade for all your favourite stallholders and the small army of volunteers who make the market happen – so please cast your vote for us now!
As to the August market, well – it’s summertime and the shopping is easy… The Rotary Club of Kew Gardens are taking a stall to sell Pimm’s and soft drinks, while Beech Hill Farm will surely bring more of their mouthwatering strawberries. Sunday lunch or supper will be solved with fabulous fish from The Portland Scallop Company, or by throwing on the barbecue lamb or rose veal from C&S Stileman, or porky perfection from Noggin Farm. And Flax Farm are launching a new breakfast line – their Linseed Summer Porridge, made to be lighter for warmer weather, with bronze and gold linseeds, pumpkin seeds, goji and blueberries and vanilla, among other good things.
Before you write your shopping list, do check our list of attending stalls here – this being August, some of our regulars are on holiday (such as the Kew Jam Company, so there’ll be no preserves on the Kew Village Market stall this month).
However, we’re very pleased to welcome four new stallholders: Lusobrazil, offering all sorts of Portuguese and Brazilian baked goods – cakes, savouries, biscuits and breads; Bang Curry has a range of spices and seasonings mixed to family recipes; Organic Wool Felt has this tactile fabric fashioned into covers for iPads and iPhones as well as bags and cushions; and Beeinspired sells unique bodycare and homecare products make using beeswax and honey from their own hives.
Looking forward to seeing them and you at Kew Village Market on Sunday 4th August from 10am to 2pm!
